Arnaud Tonus of Wilvo Yamaha MXGP won the second round of the Swiss motocross championship in Payerne. Tonus won both the heats and rode to an emphatic victory in front of his home crowd. Shaun Simpson participated in the second round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at Harfsen. He rode strongly, but setbacks held him back to fifth overall.

The second round of the Swiss motocross championships took place at the classic circuit of Payerne. This is Tonus' home region and it was pleasant to perform in front of his home crowd.

Tonus was on from straight away and posted the fastest qualifying time. He launched perfectly on his Yamaha YZ-F450 for the first heat, so shot straight into the lead. He kept his lap times competitive and won the race with a fifteen-second margin.

Tonus started in second place, in the second race but immediately attacked for the lead. After two laps he had moved to the front and then he was never challenged again, winning by twenty seconds.

Teammate Shaun Simpson reported for duty at the second round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at Hafsen. He qualified well and was holding steady in fourth place in the first heat. A spurt near the end of the race allowed him to pass Jeffrey Herlings and Gautier Paulin, but just as he looked set to finish in that position he crashed heavily. He injured his ankle but managed to finish fifth.

Shaun's ankle received some treatment between the races and he gritted his teeth to hold onto the third position for a long time during race two. A problem forced him out of the race, though, and that spelled the end of an eventful day.
