The end of the 2013 season, which has taken place on the track of Lierop, in the Netherlands, it was been definitely positive for the Silver Action. The team from Bergamo in fact ends the season with a result of all prestige : the 3rd place in the final ranking of the MX2 World Championship obtained by José Butron behind the two official KTM Herlings and Tixier.
This test was a kind of bogeyman for the team and its lead driver : it’s known that the sand of Lierop not forgive and it would be hard for José to get a placement at the level of those obtained previously. The target was therefore to safeguard the 3rd place in the Championship from the only remaining threat that could worry Butron: the official Yamaha driven by the French, Christophe Charlier.
Fortunately the things have evolved well and José has achieved the title of 3rd best rider of the world in MX2 class already at the end of the first run of the Grand Prix of Benelux, in which he has finished at 15th place. In race 2 the Spanish, started in the top ten, has suffered a contact with Rauchenecker after few laps, and, after this fall, he had recover from the 20th place. Although the sandy floor isn’t particularly congenial to him, Butron has, however, recovered several positions and finally has reached the 15th place.
These are the words of Mirko Madaschi, KTM Silver Action Team Manager, immediately after the Gran Prix: " Mission accomplished! We are 3rd in the MX2 World Championship and this makes us, extremely proud and very satisfied, because this is the target for which we have worked so hard throughout the season. Of course , the result of Lierop isn’t particularly exciting, because José has suffered the conditions of the track perhaps more than we had expected, but that's okay: we are the 1st no-official bike in the standings, and we are arrived just behind the two KTM official riders. I think that this is a remarkable result. Here, in Lierop, we have also formalized a large part of our line-up for the next agonistic season : in addition to Butron, in fact, we will run with two other young riders, to grow in the light of the experience that we have gained so far: the Belgian Kevin Fors and the Russian Viacheslav Golovkin, who will join José in MX2 class. We will realize soon also our obligation in the European Championships.
Now we are waiting for the final round of the season, the Motocross of Nations, where we will race to get the best possible result, as usual.
In the meantime, I take this opportunity to thank all the figures that have supported us in this fruitful season: our technical sponsors and our partners because, without them, this wouldn’t have been possible.
