Zach Osborne Wins Lites East Supercross TitleMay 8, 2017 - 9:50 PM
Zach Osborne did it. In one of the most thrilling championship showdowns in years, and against all odds, Zach Osborne made it happen. It all took place at the final round of the series in Las Vegas where with only one point separating the top three riders, the Lites East Supercross championship came down one 15-lap showdown. As the gate dropped on the main event, disaster struck for Osborne when he was involved in a first turn pileup that left him joining the race some 10-15 seconds behind after everyone else had cleared the first turn. It seemed Osborne’s title hopes had all but vanished.
But Osborne was not ready to give up, instead he remounted, put his head down and put on an inspired charge towards the front of the pack. Pass after pass he worked his way closer to the front until on the last lap, with just a few turns to the finish, Osborne caught fellow title contender Joey Savatgy in a long set of whoops, dove to the inside to take seventh position—and the title! The standing room only crowd went wild as it witnessed one of the most chaotic and exciting main events in history!
A huge congratulations goes out to Zach Osborne, his family, team and fellow sponsors. The entire Fly Racing team is proud of your achievement and your never-give-up spirit.
Way to go, Zach!
