BACK IN THE BATTLE

The first round of the SMX World Championship Playoffs fired off at the muddy Columbus, Ohio opener. It also marked the return of ClubMX’s Max Vohland after he was sidelined by injury at the High Point round of Pro Motocross this June. Wasting no time getting back to form in his EVO-DST, Vohland fought through the nastiness for a respectable 4th overall.

Max’s teammate, Ryder Malinoski, had a standout ride in the SMX Next final but a fall would keep him off the podium at the checkers. Malinoski led several laps and looked to fight for the win until the muddy conditions ultimately took a toll.

Both Vohland, Malinoski and their ClubMX teammates will look to improve as round 2 of the playoffs heads to Carson, California, where sunny skies and warm conditions should be a welcome change.
